Tony's death has come as an awful shock to us all. He was an outstanding clinician scientist and administrator who did so much for our discipline nationally and internationally. Tony was one of my first post-doctoral fellows. He made seminal contribution with his work on T cells and allergic inflammation. I shall miss him dearly. Tony was a much loved friend, a devoted family man and had an enormous breadth of knowledge over a wide range of subjects. Our hearts go out to Helen and his children. Barry Kay
